No Double After Split, Dealer Stands on Soft 17

These are common blackjack rules for various online casinos on the microgaming network. Not being able to double down after splitting is a slight disadvantage for the player, but the dealer standing on soft 17 is a slight bonus for the player.

There are important blackjack chart differences with splitting when we’re not allowed to double down afterwards. Naturally, this restriction limits the number of times we want to split:

  • 2,2 and 3,3 are now a hit against 2 or 3 instead of a split.
  • 4,4 is now a hit against 5 or 6 instead of a split.
  • 6,6 is now a hit against 2 instead of a split.

Again, normal blackjack charts show us splitting the hands above but this changes when the rule is that we’re not allowed to double down after splitting.
